Bhubaneswar: Odisha government is ready to kick off vaccination as soon as it receives vaccines for the same, said, Director of Medical Education & Training (DMET), CBK Mohanty said.
Speaking to media, Mohanty said, “The State Government has already prepared a database of 3.27 lakh health workers for vaccination in the first phase. Based on the database, demand for adequate vaccine doses have been placed to the Centre.”
In second phase, a database of elderly persons and other frontline Corona warriors will be prepared, Mohanty added.
Mohanty further informed that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik spoke to the CEO of Serum Institute of India (SII) in July last year and urged him to give priority to Odisha on the supply of the vaccine.
