Odisha Govt Joins Hands with IBM to Introduce Steam for Girls in 125 Higher Secondary Schools

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has reached out an agreement with tech giant IBM to roll out “IBM steam for Girls” programme for improvement of education of around 30,000 students in 125 government run schools.

As part of the agreement, IBM will teach high quality science, engineering, mathematics and coding to around 20,000 girl students and 10,000 boys studying in Classes from eight to ten.

The programme aims at improving education-to-work and career pathways for girls in state government-run schools in Khurda, Ganjam, Cuttack & Sambalpur districts.

The agreement was signed by Odisha School Education Programme Authority state project Director Bhupindra Singh Punia and Chief of IBM Corportate Citizenship for India and South Asia Rumi Mallick Mitra in the presence of School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das and Secretary Chitra Arumugam.
