Odisha Govt Suspends Tainted IFS Officer Abhay Kant Pathak

Bhubaneswar: Reiterating its policy of zero tolerance against corruption, the Odisha Government today suspended the tainted IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak from service.

The development came hours after the 1987 batch IFS officer and his son Akash Kumar Pathak were arrested by Vigilance and remanded to 14-day judicial custody.

The father-son duo was arrested for allegedly amassing assets worth crores disproportionate to their known sources of income.
Currently, Abhay Kant Pathak is serving as the Additional PCCF, Plan, Program and Afforestation in the State.

Notably, the vigilance sleuths have so far unearthed disproportionate assets of Rs 9,35,42,594 from the possession of the IFS officer during their biggest ever raid.
