Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government will set up seven more Aahaar Kendras this year.
This has been informed by Housing and Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena in the Assembly on Tuesday.
Currently, there are 158 Aahaar Kendras across the State, the Minister said.
The State Government has spent Rs 166.71 crore between 2015-16 and 2018-19 to operate these Aahaar Kendras, he said while adding that a sum of Rs 47.70 crore has been spent during 2019-20 till date.
The State Government had launched the subsidised Aahaar scheme on April 1, 2015 with the objective to provide cooked hot meals to the poor and needy people in the urban areas.
