Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Health & Family Welfare department has issued advisory on the usage of COVID-19 medicines like Hydroxychloroquine.
The advisories are as follow:
• Do not take medicine without prescription
• Hydroxychloroquine is a prescription medicine
• Hydroxychloroquine is prescribed only for Asymptomatic healthcare workers & household contacts & laboratory confirmed cases
• Hydroxychloroquine in combination with Azithromycin is an off-label indication in patients with severe disease who require ICU
• Illegal sale of Hydroxychloroquine will lead to legal action under Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940
