Bhubaneswar: Odisha Information and Public Relations department Secretary Sanjay Singh today lauded the media for extending support to the State Government in its fight against the coronavirus.
Addressing a press briefing here, Singh has highlighted the role of media in containing the spread of the virus.
He said that the media is playing a pivotal role in sensitizing the people about the COVID-19 across the State.
‘The State Government is able to disseminate all COVID-related information to the people in the rural areas through media”, Singh said.
“I am really thankful to the media and their representatives for extending support to the government in its fight against the Corona”, the I&PR Secretary added.
Giving details about the current COVID-19 situation in the State, Singh said that a total of 86,140 samples have been tested so far in Odisha, out of which 737 came out positive.
As many as 30 persons have recovered COVID-19 today and are being discharged, taking total number of recovered cases to 196, he added.
