Odisha Issues Fresh Guidelines to Contain New COVID Strain

Bhubaneswar: In view of rising cases of COVID-19 in several States, the Odisha Government has issued fresh guidelines to contain the spread of new strain of the virus in the State.

As precautionary measures, the State Health Department urged the people to strictly follow the basic COVID-19 protocols, such as washing hands, wearing masks, and maintaining social distance.

The Department has cautioned the people that the new strain is more dangerous and highly contagious than the older one as it can remain alive on the dry object for around eight days and can easily enter the human body than the older one.

The symptoms include headache and body pain, lack of appetite, loose motion, emergence of skin disease and itching, sore throat and nasal congestion, and chest pain and coughing.

The Health Department has asked the people to receive COVID-19 vaccine as per the government protocol and stay away from crowded places.

It has further urged to those returning to Odisha from other states should undergo home isolation for seven days.

Those developing COVID-19 symptoms should undergo test, it added.
