Odisha Police Continues Its Special Enforcement Drive; Rs 28 Lakh fine Collected In 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar: Continuing its efforts to strictly implement the Covid-19 enforcement guidelines, the Odisha Police has collected fines of Rs 27,99,350 in the last 24 hours from violators. While three cases have been registered and 18 people arrested, 668 vehicles have been seized by the police during the same period.

The special enforcement drive launched by Odisha Police against violators of Covid protocol was started on 7th April after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged them to take strict action against those who violate the Covid-19 guidelines especially with regard to wearing Masks. In the last eight days, Odisha Police has taken action against 80 thousand violators and collected fines to the tune of about Rs 2.5 Crore.
