Bhubaneswar: Odisha has retained the top rank in the country in the effective implementation of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme this year, said an all-India ranking released by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Expressing happiness over the achievement, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated the Housing & Urban Development Department (HUD) for the feat.
“Congratulations @HUD Dept Odisha as Odisha retained top position in the implementation of @amrut_MoHUA. Building durable urban infrastructure and amenities is a priority to make cities economically vibrant, sustainable, cleaner, smarter and livable”, the Chief Minister’s Office tweeted.

Odisha, which was earlier ranked third, moved to the second position in 2018, achieved rank one in 2019, and maintained it this year.
Out of the contracts worth Rs 1704.39 crore awarded to Odisha under the scheme, it has completed projects of Rs 1025.56 crore.
