Bhubaneswar: Schools in four rain-affected districts in Odisha will remain closed today in view of heavy rainfall forecast by the IMD.
All schools in Bhadrak, Cuttack, Ganjam and Gajapati will remain closed, announced the district collectors.
Incessant rain lashed several parts in Odisha since Wednesday as low pressure area over westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal intensified into a well marked low pressure area at over the same region.
The heavy rains since yesterday have affected train services badly in Odisha.
Many Express and Passenger trains are running behind schedule. Heavy to very heavy rains have been experienced between Palasa and Vizianagaram. At Vizianagaram, water from city municipal drains and nearby areas entered the Station yards and tracks got submerged for some time.
