Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ace shuttler Pramod Bhagat bagged a silver medal in the Men’s Singles event at the Japan Paralympics- 2020 in Tokyo on Sunday.
The para-badminton player lost to world no-2 Daniel Bethell of England 21-16 and 21-19 in a crucial match.
Earlier, the Indian top seed had defeated Maman Nurjaman of Indonesia and Vikram Kumar of India in straight sets 21-7 and 21-17.
In September this year, Bhagat had clinched a gold medal in the China Para-Badminton International 2019 beating Bethell.
Recently, the ace shuttler, who hails from Bargarh district, has received the prestigious Arjuna Award.
