Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has decided to organize centenary celebration of Mahatma Gandhi’s first visit to the State from 23rd March 2021.
Mahatma Gandhi is the eternal source of inspiration for all of us. He visited Odisha eight times during the period 1921-1946.
On 23rd March 1921, Mahatma arrived in Odisha for the first time and had addressed a historic gathering on the river bed of Kathajodi in Cuttack.
To make this memorable, the State Government has decided to organize a year-long grand celebration from 23rd March 2021, an official release said.
This centenary celebration will certainly inspire the people of Odisha, especially our youth, on the ideals, and principles of Mahatma, and above all his mantra of Ahimsa and the magnitude of his greatness, it added.
