Odisha: Two BDOs Suspended on Corruption Charges

Bhubaneswar: Taking stringent action against tainted officials, the Odisha Government has suspended two Block Development Officers over corruption charges.

The Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department suspended Jharigaon BDO Debendra Bahadur Singh Dharua and Chitrakonda BDO Lariman Kharsel for their involvement in alleged misappropriation of entitled fund in the Individual Household Latrine (IHHL) scheme under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) programme.

The BDOs have been placed under suspension with immediate effect in contemplation of disciplinary proceedings, the Panchayati Raj Department said.
