Odisha’s Para Athlete Pramod Bhagat Nominated for Arjuna Award

Bhubaneswar: Odisha para athlete Pramod Bhagat has made the State proud as he has been nominated for the prestigious Arjuna Award.

Bhagat is in the list of 19 nominees for Arjuna Award for this year.

The ace badminton player has shown resounding performance this year winning five gold medals.

Other nominees for the award include  Tajinderpal Singh Toor (Athletics), Mohammad Anas Yahiya (Athletics), S Bhaskaran (Body Building), Sonia Lather (Boxing), Ravinder Jadeja (Cricket), Chinglensana Singh Kangujam (Hockey), Ajay Thakur (Kabaddi), Gaurav Singh Gill (Motor Sports), Anjum Moudgil (Shooting), Harmeet Rajul Desai (Table Tennis), Poonam Dhanda (Wrestling), Fouaad Mirza (Equestrian), Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (Football), Poonam Yadav (Cricket), Swapna Barman (Athletics), Sundar Singh Gurjar (Para Sports), Bhamidipati Sai Praneeth (Badminton) and Simran Singh Shergill (Polo).

The panel also nominated five names for the Dronacharya Award, four for Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar, three for Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad (MAKA) Trophy and names of three coaches in life time category.
