Bhubaneswar: Bringing laurels to the State, Odisha’s Shruti Swain clinched silver medal in East Zone Inter State Badminton Championship 2019 held in Almora in Uttarakhand.
Shruti, who is practicing at SAI Regional Badminton Academy in the capital city, won the medal in U-19 girls’ category.
Speaking to Thenewsroom.co.in exclusively, Shruti said, I was disappointed to have lost the match as I was looking for gold.”
She gave credit to her coach T Kiran, for all the success so for.
” I am thankful to Kiran sir who always supports me and puts lot of hard work to shape my career. Likewise, I am grateful to Odisha Badminton Association, my parents for giving all support”, she added.
In a close fight, she lost to Manshi Singh of UP in 21-19 and 21-18 sets.
The ace shuttler had won the Girl’s U-19 singles title at the Odisha State Badminton Championship last year.
