OMFED Hikes Milk Prices In State

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited has decided to increase the prices of various types of Milk sold under the brand name of OMFED. The new prices will be applicable from 27th September 2019. It has raised the prices of toned milk to Rs. 38 and premium milk to Rs.44 per liter.

Similarly Premium Gold milk will also be priced at Rs.44 per liter. It is an increase of Rs 4 from the earlier prices. The State Government had last revised the prices of milk in the year 2014.

The move comes at a time when the milk producers are demanding higher prices for their produce and dealers are demanding increased commission. The milk producers will now be given extra Rs 3 per liter for their produce. Likewise, the commission of milk retailers has been raised by Rs 0.25. In addition to this, OMFED has decided to contribute Rs 0.20 per liter on behalf of the agents under the Sanchaya Yojana.
