Oil Effect: Bus Fares Hiked Across All Categories In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: With the increase in prices of fuel, the bus fares across all categories has seen a hike in the state today.

The hike was effected under the automatic fare adjustment mechanism.

According to a notification issued by the State Commerce & Transport department, while  the fares of ordinary and express buses went up by 1 paisa per kilometre and of deluxe and AC deluxe buses by 2 paisa per km.

With this, the ticket price in ordinary buses would now be 70 paisa per km as against 69 paise per km and for express buses would be 73 paisa as against 72 paisa per km.

Likewise, deluxe category buses would now charge Rs 1.1 paisa against 99 paisa.

Passengers travelling in AC Deluxe buses would have to give Rs 1.23 instead of the existing Rs 1.21 paisa per km.
