On Nuakhai, Naveen Releases Rs 743 Crores KALIA Assistance to 37 Lakh Farmers

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday released financial assistance worth Rs 742.58 crores to 37,12, 914 small and marginal farmers under the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme.

The beneficiaries will receive Rs 2000 each to their bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer Mode.

Disbursing the KALIA assistance on the occasion of Nuakhai, the Chief Minister said that the problems of the farmers are the problems of all and the problems can never be ignored.

The Chief Minister said that he is in touch with the Central Government to resolve the fertilizer issue.

Naveen said that his government is always with the farmers.

The CM further said that the KALIA Yojana is the best scheme in the country for the welfare of the farmers.

Odisha is the only state in the country to provide assistance to landless farmers. Lakhs of small farmers are benefiting from the scheme, he added.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the State Government has disbursed more than Rs 3,200 crore financial assistence the farmers under the KALIA scheme.
