Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today urged all to take a pledge to prevent ocean plastic pollution.
In a message on the occasion of World Oceans Day today, the Odisha CM said that oceans are lungs of our planet as they generate most of the oxygen and play a critical role in regulating climate. They are major source of water-vital to our survival, major source of food & medicine, the CM added.
“On World Oceans Day, let us take a pledge to prevent ocean plastic pollution”, Naveen tweeted.

World Oceans Day is an international day that takes place annually on the 8th of June. The day supports the implementation of worldwide Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and fosters public interest in the management of the ocean and its resources.
