On World Statistics Day, Odisha CM Pledges to Strengthen Trust Worthy Data Ecosystem for Better Governance
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today reiterated his commitment to further strengthen reliable, timely and trust worthy data ecosystem for better governance.
The Chief Minister said that the COVID-19 pandemic has elevated the critical importance of trustworthy statistics to build confidence among people as we fight the invisible enemy.
“On World Statistics Day, pledge to continue strengthening reliable, timely and trust worthy data ecosystem for better governance”, the Odisha CM tweeted.

The World Statistics Day is an international day to celebrate statistics. Created by the United Nations Statistical Commission, it was first celebrated on 20 October 2010. The day is celebrated every five years.
The third World Statistics Day is being celebrated around the globe on 20 October 2020 with the theme “Connecting the world with data we can trust.” This theme reflects the importance of trust, authoritative data, innovation and the public good in national statistical systems.
