New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with the Chief Ministers of various states on the situation in the country in the backdrop of the Corona Pandemic. The meeting adds significance as the country is in lockdown since March 22nd which was scheduled to be lifted on April 14th. As more and more states are demanding continuing the lockdown and extension for another two three weeks, the Prime Minister may announce it after the meeting or a few days after.
While interaction with the Chief Ministers through Video Conferencing, the Prime Minister said “Any chief minister can speak to me and give suggestions (on COVID-19) anytime”.
While Odisha has extended the lock down till April end, Punjab also followed suit and declared lockdown extension till April 30th. Other states are also demanding to extend the nationwide lockdown to stop the spread of the deadly disease.
India has recorded 7400 infections and 239 Coronavirus deaths till date.
