Puri: Ahead of Rath Yatra at Puri Srimandir, the last surviving Devadasi of Lord Jagannath Parasamani Devi passed away this afternoon. She was 87.
Parasamani, who used to sing songs at the Srimandir, died due to old age-related ailments, according to reports.
As per the tradition, a Devadasi dedicates her life in worship and service of the deity.
