Puri: Continuing crackdown on anti-socials in the pilgrim city, the Puri police has arrested two dreaded criminals in encounters on Monday night.
As per reports, the wanted criminals – Seyamat Khan aka Tiki Mian and Biswaranjan Sahoo were injured in two separate encounters here at Baseli Sahi and Talabania areas.
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the areas where the anti-socials were present.
The criminals opened firing at the cops in a bid to escape. The police retaliated accordingly and the criminals sustained bullet injuries on their legs. They were subsequently apprehended.
Both Tiki Mian and Biswaranjan were initially rushed to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
In a bid to make the pilgrim city of Puri crime free, the district police has recently intensified its action against criminals.
