Puri Rath Yatra: Construction of Chariots in Full Swing (In Pics)

Puri: The construction work of the chariots for Lord Jagannath, Lord Balbhadra and Devi Subhadra for the world famous Rath Yatra is on full swing.

The chariot construction work for the mega festival began on the auspicious Akshyaya Tritiya day.

It is underway at a frenetic pace the Ratha Khala at the pilgrim city of Puri.

In view of COVID-19 pandemic situation, the grand festival of the holy Trinity will be held with minimum servitors and without devotees.

The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has held medical camp to spread awareness on COVID-19 among the servitors of Srimandir. It has also conducted coronavirus test of the servitors.

 

The SJTA has made special arrangements for live telecast of the Ratha Yatra, so that the devotees can watch the festival live on their TV screens.

Meanwhile, the Orissa High Court has disposed of a writ petition pertaining to holding of Lord Jagannaths Rath Yatra at Pur scheduled to be held on June 23, declining to interfere in the matter at this stage.
