Puri: Several servitors at Puri Srimandir had allegedly violated rules on Snana Purnima by facilitating a local MLA to reach the Snana Mandapa of the deities, media reports stated.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) issued notice to servitors on the basis of CCTV surveillance footage which showed some servitors facilitated BJP MLA Jayanta Kumar Sarangi to reach the cordoned area of the Snana mandap.
As per the guidelines, entry of devotees into the Snana Mandap is strictly prohibited during Snana Purnima rituals.
The servitors not having any connection with the Snana Purnima rituals are also restricted to the cordoned area of the Snana mandap. Several unauthorized servitors had reached the Snana Mandapa and touched the idols of the deities, reports said.
The SJTA asked the servitors to reply to the notice immediately.
