Puri Srimandir Has Land in 24 Districts of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Puri Srimandir has 60,426.943 acres of land spread over 24 districts of Odisha, informed Law Minister Pratap Jena to the Assembly on Tuesday.

Out of 60,426.943 acres of land, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration possesses final Record of Rights (RoR) over 34803.013 acres of land, the Minister said in a written reply to the House.

The Minister further informed that Jagannath Temple funds amounting to Rs 545 crore kept in a private bank will be transferred to a nationalized bank by March 30.

The total funds of the 12th-century shrine in Puri amounted to Rs 626,44,78,444. Of this Rs 592 crore was kept in YES Bank including Rs 545 crore in fixed deposit and Rs 47 crore in a Flexi account till September 30, 2019.

The money kept in the Flexi account has been withdrawn, the remaining Rs 545 crore will be transferred to a nationalized bank in two phases on March 19 and 30, the Minister added.
