Puri Transformation: Govt Issues Notification For Social Impact Assessment

Puri: The Government of Odisha has issued a notification for Social Impact Assessment of the eviction process that has to be carried out in the 75 meters surrounding the Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri. With this the legal process for acquisition of government and private land for the project has started.

The notice is issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department under section 4 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

According to the notification, the approved agency will carry out survey in the proposed area as per requirement to acquire land within the 75 meters radius of Jagannath Temple. As mentioned in the notification, the total area to be acquired will be 15.191 acres which includes 12.5445 acres private land and 2.6465 acres government land. The land will be acquired in the Baselisahi, Manikarnika Sahi, Kalikadevi Sahi, Dolamandap Sahi and Chudanga Sahi of Puri. The survey work will start from Thursday.
