Rath Yatra: Shutdown in Puri from 9PM Today

Puri: The Odisha Government has declared shutdown in Puri from 9PM ahead of the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in the pilgrim city.

This has been informed by Chief Secretary Asit Tripahty.

After the Supreme Court gave its green signal to conduct the festival without devotees, the State Government has declared shutdown in Puri from 9PM today to restrict entry of devotees to Srimandir.

As per the order of the apex court, the festival will be held with restrictions only in Puri and not in any other place in Odisha.

The chariots will be pulled by the servitors, who tested negative for COVID-19 and the devotees can see the live telecast of the festival.
