RD Dept Principal Secy Urges Officers to Spend Approved Budgetary Allocation in Stipulated Time Frame
Bhubaneswar: Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Rural Development Department reviewed all the schemes under the Department.
Attending the review meeting held at the conference hall of Rural Development Department Singh gave strict instructions to concerned field officers to spend the approved budgetary allocation for the first three months for various projects in the financial year 2023-24 within the stipulated time frame.
For the first three months of the current financial year, many divisions have failed to spend the targeted allocation till date for which the Principal Secretary has given strict instructions to spend the first quarter allocation by the end of next June and said that the EIC and the chief engineer will be held responsible for negligence. Similarly, he also emphasised that grant of required finance must be accorded within 48 hours and it must be ascertained by the concerned Chief Engineers in the next meeting. It is the sole responsibility of the department to complete the roads, bridges and buildings within the time frame. Under no circumstances the time limit given by the divisions to the department should be exceeded for the projects. All the field officers were also advised to make all correspondence through Oswas for smooth communication.
Arvind Agarwal, Director of Rural Development Department informed the departmental officials to finish the tender process of the high priority projects by 7th June and complete them by February 2024, In the review meeting, the plans like MMGSY, MSY, Biju Setu Yojana, Roads & Buildings under Rural Development Department were discussed. The Chief Enginees of Circles and Heads of Divisions attended the review meeting through virtual mode. Sri Singh made an elaborate analysis of all the projects.
