Sad Day For Migrants Returning Home; 14 Die in Separate Incidents

New Delhi: About 14 migrant labourers have died and more than 60 injured in separate incidents of accident in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

The first incident took place in Guna in Madhya Pradesh where 8 migrants killed when the truck in which they were travelling collided with a bus. 55 injured persons have been sent for treatment to Guna. They were on their way to Uttar Pradesh from Mumbai.

In another tragic incident, six migrant workers walking along the Muzaffarnagar-Saharanpur highway were killed after a speeding bus ran over them last night.

The incident took place near the Ghalauli check-post. The labourers belonged to Bihar who were returning from Punjab. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced Rs 2 Lakh ex-gratia to the next of the kin of the victims and compensation of Rs 50,000 each to injured people.
