New Delhi: The Supreme Court today dismissed a review petition seeking investigation into the Rafale Jet deal. Justice S.K. Kaul while reading the judgment said that the review petition is without merit. It also dismissed a plea seeking an FIR to probe the Rafale deal inked with Dassault Aviation of France.
In a big relief to Rahul Gandhi, the court also closed contempt proceedings initiated against the Congress leader and said that being an important political person, Rahul must remain more careful in future. The contempt proceeding against Rahul Gandhi was initiated for his remarks “Chowkidar Chor Hai”.
The Supreme Court bench of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, Justice S.K. Kaul and Justice K.M. Joseph said that Rahul Gandhi, being a person holding an important political position, should have been more careful before attributing to the top court certain things which were not part of the order.
