Cuttack: The fourth phase of eviction drive to make the adjacent areas of the premier health institute free from illegal encroachments has begun today.
A joint squad of Cuttack district administration, Cuttack Municipal Corporation and the Comissionerate police has started the eviction drive.
According to reports, the joint squad has started demolishing illegal structures from along roadsides from Chunabhati to Ranihat. Shops, showrooms and temples are being demolished now.
As many as six JCB machines have reportedly been engaged in the drive in the presence of adequate security forces.
According to Government plans, the SCB Medical College and Hospital would be developed into a world class institution by clearing encroachments and acquiring additional land from Water Resources, Skill Development and Fisheries departments.
