Seven-Member Doctors’ Team Formed for Treatment of Odisha Conjoined Twin Girls

Cuttack: A special team of seven doctors have been formed for the treatment of conjoined twin girls, who were born in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Monday.

The team comprising doctors from pediatric surgery, pediatric medicine, new born wing, ICU team and cardiology department will be led by Hiranya Mohanty, informed Saroj Satpathy, Superintendent of Sishu Bhawan here today.

Notably, Renubala Behera from Khalpal village in Parjang block of Dhenkanal district had given birth to the conjoined twins at Dhenkanal district headquarters hospital.

The twins, joined from chest to stomach, were shifted to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paediatrics (Sishu Bhawan) in Cuttack for further treatment.
