Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government is planning to conduct single entrance test for admission to post graduate (PG) courses in different universities in the State from the next academic session.
The decision was taken at the Vice Chancellor’s Conclave presided over by Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo here on Tuesday.
The common entrance test will facilitate the students to take admission in the postgraduate streams in any of the universities of their choice. If a student qualifies the common entrance test, he or she will be eligible to take admission in any university of the State, the Minister said.
The decision was taken considering the problems faced by the students in appearing for entrance tests on different dates for admission to PG courses in different universities, he added.
The Minister also directed the VCs to publish Plus III and back paper results by June 15 in order to complete the PG admission process in time.
The conclave was attended by Vice Chancellors of 11 universities in the State.
