Berhampur: The Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) today declared containment zone order for six areas in Berhampur town as a preventive measure to tackle spread of COVID-19.
Based on the inputs received from special teams formed for health screening, six areas have been declared as containment zones.
The areas are Sahu Colony-Ward No. 04, Bhaba Nagar 4th lane, Tulasi Nagar 6th lane, Bank Colony 1st lane near A.I.R Office, Gandhi Nagar 4th lane, and Burma Colony.
Few symptomatic people were found in the area during the special screening drive undertaken by Rapid Response Teams, informed BeMC Commissioner Chakravarti Singh Rathore.
No public shall be allowed to move into the containment zone and the inhabitants within the containment zone shall remain in home quarantine till further orders.
All the inhabitants within the containment zone shall strictly remain under home quarantine. All the shopping establishment of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately, the BeMC said in an order.
Notably, the Ganjam district administration has formed 70 teams for the health screening of the people in Berhampur under Mission Zero COVID-19.
As per reports, the teams have completed screening of nearly 1 lakh people of the city.
