Bhubaneswar: Six persons, including five journalists of a web-channel, were arrested by the police here on charges of extortion.
The Khandagiri police arrested the accused persons, who accused had allegedly demanded Rs 1.5 lakh from a ghee manufacturing company and threatened the owner of the company, according to media reports.
The owner of the company had registered a complaint alleging that seven persons had ransacked property and forcibly took Rs 99,000 and Rs 31,000 in two installments and later demanded more.
The police have recovered Rs 31,000 cash, two cars and several mobile phones from the accused.
