The Suna Besha is observed five times in a year during Bijaya Dashami, Kartika Purnima, Pausa Purnima, Magha Purnima and Asadha Ekadashi. The last Besha is observed on the chariots in front of the Jagannath Temple.

This year, with the festivities being organised in a scaled down manner due to the restrictions imposed to contain the spread of the Coronavirus and no devotees are allowed to the Badadanda (Grand Road).
