Sundargarh Has Sufficient Medical Oxygen Available, Says Collector

Rourkela: In view of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic and growing demand for life-saving medical oxygen, the Sundargarh administration today said that the district has sufficient medical oxygen available for the patients.

Speaking on the oxygen supply status at NTPC CHC, Sundargarh Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan said  “We have sufficient supply as of today. More are in pipeline”.

He also shared the status of oxygen cylinders at NTPC hospital.

The district had earlier received 170 oxygen cylinders from various sources.

Meanwhile, the district administration is taking a slew of measures to prevent COVID19 infection, including strict enforcement of social distancing norms and monitoring of isolation patients, health screening of people arriving the district.

The 2,000-bed COVID Care Center (CCC) is being set up at BPUT, NIT and other government colleges in Rourkela.

The CCC at NIT Rourkela having 850 beds will be ready within this week. It consists of all necessary provisions for the COVID affected, the admin said.
