Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved 13 major proposals of various departments.
The State Cabinet cleared the lowest negotiated Turnkey Tender of NCC Limited, amounting to Rs 888.50 crore for execution of first phase expansion plan of SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack.
The State Government has taken a decision for implementation of Redevelopment and expansion of SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack under Phase I: Construction of Residential Accommodation (Staff Quarters & Hostels) and allied Infrastructure on Turnkey basis (Part-I),
The work is targeted for completion within a period of 24 (Twenty-four) calendar months.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal to regularize 3328 Multi Lingual Education (MLE) Sikshya Sahayaks after six years of their service.
In view of providing equitable quality education to the Scheduled Tribe children, recognizing the importance of language influencing education and to give opportunity to the tribal children to learn in their mother tongue 3328 MLE Sikshya Sahayaks were recruited from the tribal candidates of 17 districts having requisite qualification during the year 2013 under Samagra Shikshya.
The eligible MLE Sikshya Sahayaks became Junior Teacher after completion of 3 years of continuous service and will be Asst. teacher after completion of 3 years of continuous and satisfactory service as Junior Teacher.
After their regularization they will be guided by the Odisha Elementary Education (Method of recruitment and conditions of Service of Teachers and Officers) Rules, 1997 and as amended from time to time.
The Cabinet also approved the implementation of 5 transmission projects in low voltage pockets in the State with 30% equity support from the State Government.
The State government has been implementing various schemes and projects to provide quality and reliable power supply to electricity consumers. In spite of this, load flow study carried out by the DISCOMs revealed existence of certain low voltage pockets and some mega lift irrigation points in the State requiring immediate attention.
Accordingly, the State Transmission Utility based on the proposal of DISCOMs have proposed to execute five of transmission projects (four Grid Sub-stations and associated lines and one 132 KV line) with an outlay of Rs. 259.43 crore out of which 30% (Rs 77.83 crore) will be provided as equity support by the State government.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal for construction of Sandul barrage project in Kalahandi district and construction of underground pipeline irrigation system from Rangali right irrigation system for irrigation in Dhenkanal and Cuttack districts and construction of under ground pipeline from Anandapur barrage for irrigation of around 9800 Hectors in Balasore district.
