Three CRPF Jawans Killed in Maoist Attack in Nuapada

Nuapada: Three CRPF jawans were killed in Maoist attack in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Tuesday.

The deceased CRPF jawans were identified as ASI Shishupal Singh (Uttar Pradesh), ASI Shivlal (Haryana) and constable Dharmendra Singh (Bihar).

During an operation in Patdhara area under Nuapada district, there was fierce exchange of fire between CRPF and Maoists.

Three CRPF jawans laid down their lives in this incident.

SP Nuapada and senior officers of CRPF have reached the spot.

Combing operation has been intensified in the area. More teams of SOG and CRPF have been pressed into operation. Operations would continue till the Maoists are flushed out, according to a statement by police.

The State Government has announced payment of ex-gratia of Rs.20,00,000 to each of the Martyrs family.

The DGP expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families.

He stated that operations would continue in the area to track down the Maoists and the supreme sacrifice of the Martyrs would not go in vain.
