Malkangiri: In a major success to the counter maoist strategy of the Odisha Government and Odisha Police, three hardcore Maoists today surrendered before Police DG Abhay at Malkangiri. The three surrendered Maoists include Rame Podiami@Sabita, ACM, Pallachalam-LOS Commander and Raidhar Dhurua, PM and Secretary Daldali Cell. They surrendered before the police DG Abhay at the Malkangiri Police headquarters in the presence of other senior officials including IG Operations Amitabh Thakur, Director Intelligence Lalit Das, Koraput SP Varun Guntapalli and others.
According to Odisha police, the Maoists surrendered as they were dissatisfied with the Maoist leadership and attracted by the Surrender and Rehabilitation policy of Govt of Odisha. These surrenders will motivate others to surrender and join the mainstream. DGP Abhay has further appealed to all to Maoists to shun violence and come forward to surrender. All should join hands for furthering the developmental initiatives of the Govt.
Earlier in the morning, DGP Abhay went to Sunabeda and discussed various anti-maoist operations and interacted with the forces. He will also visit Koraput and Kandhamal later in the day.
