Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, two children have died and another seriously injured when firecrackers stored in a house in Sogar village caught fire and exploded. The roof of the house collapsed due to the impact of the explosion.
The children – all cousins, were playing inside the house when the incident occurred. Fire brigade and local people tried to rescue the children and sent them to Dhenkanal District Headquarter Hospital. While two were declared brought dead, the serious patient has been shifted to Cuttack for treatment.
Police has registered a case and investigations are on. The house owner had kept fire crackers illegally inside his house.
