Berhampur: Ganjam district, which comes under Zone 1 due to more than 100 active cases of COVID-19, will continue to impose weekend shutdown till July 31 as per the order of the State Government.
Timing for shop opening in the district will be from 6 AM to 4 PM. After 4PM to next day morning 6 AM will be totally shutdown, informed Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.
Movement of the people has been strictly prohibited during shutdown.
The district administration urged the shopkeepers to follow social distancing norms. The violators will be slapped fine of Rs 1000 with 7-day closure of shop.
Besides, intra district and inter district public, private transport is not allowed. Local vehicle movement is allowed based on identity card and health issues only, the Collector said.
Religious places, gardens, playgrounds and ponds will remain closed till July end.
Coaching classes in Berhampur and other urban areas are not allowed. Strict action will be taken against the violators.
Food eateries at road side will be closed. Restaurants are allowed only home delivery, the district administration said.
All government offices in the district will remain closed for public till July 10, the Collector added.
Meanwhile, shutdown in Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) area is withdrawn from July 1. However, the lockdown will remain in force, he further said.
