Winter Session of Odisha Assembly to Be Held without COVID-19 Restrictions

Bhubaneswar: The winter session of Odisha Legislative Assembly will commence from November 24 without COVID-19 restrictions, said Assembly Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha on Monday.

The legislators will seat in their allotted seats. The House will function from 10.30 AM-1 PM and 4 PM-7 PM, the Speaker said after the all-party meeting.

The MLAs who are sick can apply to participate in the proceedings of the House through videoconferencing, he added.

The winter session of the Assembly will continue till December 31. The session will have 33 working days, of which, six days have been marked for private members’ business days. There will be no meetings on five Sundays.

Discussion on demand for grants on the supplementary budget will be held on November 30 and December 1 while the Appropriation bill will be tabled on December 2. Last year, the Supplementary budget outlay was Rs 19,833 crore.
