With 54,736 New Positive Cases, India’s COVID-19 Tally Crosses 17 Lakh-Mark

New Delhi: India’s COVID-19 tally reached 17,50,724 with the addition of 54,736 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, according the Union Health Ministry.

The coronavirus death toll jumped to 37,364 with 853 new fatalities.

There are 5,67,730 active COVID-19 cases in the country. As many as 11,45,630 patients have recovered from the infection and discharged so far, the Health Ministry stated.

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
