With Biggest Single Spike of 55,078 Cases, India’s COVID-19 Tally Crosses 16 Lakh-Mark

New Delhi: India’s COVID-19 tally reached 16, 38,870 with the biggest single day spike of 55,078 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, according the Union Health Ministry.

The coronavirus death toll jumped to 35,747 with 779 new fatalities.

There are 5,45,318 active COVID-19 cases in the country. As many as 10,57,805 patients have recovered from the infection and discharged so far, the Health Ministry stated.

The five most worst affected states are Maharashtra (4,11,798 cases), Tamil Nadu (2,39,978 cases), Delhi (1,34,403 cases), Andhra Pradesh (1,30,557) and Karnataka (1,18,632 cases).
