Zero Tolerance To Corruption: Three Senior Officials Under Odisha Vigilance Net

Bhubaneswar: Continuing the Odisha Government’s zero tolerance policy towards corruption in public space as advised by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Odisha Vigilance Department today caught three senior officials of the state government in different places of the state on corruption charges.

One among the senior officials who has been caught by the Vigilance sleuths is the Superintending Engineer Baitarani Irrigation Division, Keonjhar, Bidhan Chandra Sahu. He was intercepted near NC College in Jajpur today with Rs. 10 lakh unaccounted cash. The officer could not give information on the source of this u accounted money. Vigilance officials are searching his office and residence in Cuttack.

The second case pertains to Dr P K Mohapatra, Regional Officer Odisha State Pollution Control Board. The vigilance sleuths intercepted Mohapatra in Bhubaneswar while he was returning from Rourkela today. Cash to the tune of Rs 1, 75,000 was recovered from his possession. His house in Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar is being searched by the vigilance officials.

Regional Officer of Pollution Control Board, Balasore Narottam Behera was caught by the vigilance officials today at Tangi Gate today while he was proceeding to Bhubaneswar. Unaccounted money to the tune of Rs 89,000/- was recovered from him. Further investigations and searches are being held at various places in connection with the above case.
