50% of Residents in Bhubaneswar Have Antibodies against COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: Nearly 50 per cent residents of Bhubaneswar have developed antibodies against Coronavirus, as per the third serological survey conducted in the capital city.

The findings of the sero-survey were presented by the Odisha Government’s Chief State Covid Spokesperson Subroto Bagchi and RMRC Director Sanghamitra Pati at a press briefing here on Friday.

The third round of Serological Survey was conducted in Bhubaneswar between Oct 16-18.

As many as 1403 samples were collected randomly from 25 wards and clusters under the jurisdiction of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) for the study.

The survey revealed that around 50 per cent of residents in BMC area had an infection and have developed antibodies against the virus, informed the RMRC Director.
