Cyclone Amphan: Odisha CM Expresses Grief at Loss of Lives and Damages in WB, Extends All Possible Support

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep grief at the loss of lives and massive damage to property in West Bengal due to cyclone Amphan and extended all possible support.

The people of Odisha stand with the people of West Bengal at this hour of crisis, Naveen said.

The Chief Minister also directed the Chief Secretary to be in touch with Chief Secretary of West Bengal and extend all possible support.

Cyclone Amphan, one of the worst storms over the Bay of Bengal in years, has killed 12 people in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said.

The powerful cyclone destroyed thousands of homes, leaving authorities struggling to mount relief efforts amid the coronavirus crisis in West Bengal.
