Puri: The unique initiative of Puri District administration to keep the Badadanda clean under the newly conceived Badadanda Seba has received huge response from people of all walks and voluntary organizations. The Badadanda Seba aims at mass cleaning program at Badadanda or the Grand Road in Puri.
The call given by the administration has attracted various organizations and common people aswell who lined up today to be part of this great initiative. School children and especially youth came forward to clean the Grand Road.
People came voluntarily to clean the whole area of Badadanda which was devided into six parts for the purpose. The program will be organized every week from 6 am in the morning to 8 am, during which a section of the volunteers will be allotted a section of the Grand Road for cleaning. This will help keep the area clean with the cooperation of people.
Volunteers coming for the Badadanda Seba can choose one of the six Zones i.e., Zone 1 – from near Temple Office, Zone 2 from Marchi Kote Chhak, Zone 3 from Market Chhak, Zone 4 from Medical Chhak, Zone 5 from Badasankha, and Zone 6 till Gundicha Mandira.
The administration has also decided to organize various cultural events such as painting competition, debate competition, street play, jhoti and rangoli competition as part of this Badadanda Seba.
One of the best attractions of today’s program was the T-shirt in Exchange for Plastic program. The administration had put up counters offering T- Shirts in exchange for Used plastic thereby creating awareness on the demerits of plastic use.
